THE Chaser boys are striking fear into the hearts of PR companies around the country and for once they haven't done a thing wrong. Originally Universal Pictures asked the Chaser to plan a stunt for last Monday's Bruno premiere at the State Theatre but the team members don't like to be asked so they declined. That sent Universal into a spin; banning the team from the premiere because they were terrified the boys would try to pull off their own stunt.S obtained a copy of a confidential legal document that Universal sent to the Chaser team saying they could only come if they signed the agreement and promised not to hijack the premiere."We had no intention of doing a stunt," says the Chaser's chief troublemaker, Julian Morrow. "But we were escorted into the theatre in a heavy-handed fashion and security guards were placed on either end of our row. So we had fun getting them to follow us by getting up to go to the toilet often, buying drinks at the bar and pretending to talk into our wrists."So when a Bruno lookalike pulled up in a pink hummer on the red carpet a highly stressed Universal staffer came running into the State Theatre hissing into her headset: "It's the f---ing Chaser!"But no, The Chaser boys had their halos on that night and, while all eyes were on them, the stunt was pulled off easily by another team promoting Nando's Chicken."We were like a Trojan Portuguese Chicken," Morrow chuckles.SHELLY HORTONLAYNE OF THE DANCEWORLD surf champ Layne Beachley hopes her spin on Dancing With The Stars will show off her feminine side but her dancing partner, Dannial Gosper, may not be so confident. That's because in training she lost her temper with him."I kinda threw him against the wall," she admits. "I can get aggressive sometimes. But he's really helping me get over that. He's teaching me so much about myself."Beachley says her incentive for doing the show is to give the public a closer look at her true personality."I'm a tomboy. But I'm prepared to express myself in a different way," she says. "I'm looking forward to the gowns they are designing for me. I've only seen illustrations but I love it. I'm doing the waltz so it will be graceful."She says being out of her comfort zone makes her feel vulnerable."To calm the nerves I might have a shot of something before I go out." SH
